Rachel Kane
Director of Interpreter Services
My first Deaf friend and I met taking a class together in college. I quickly found myself driven to learn American Sign Language so we could communicate. This chance encounter led me to developing my passion for sign language and eventually toward earning my bachelor’s degree in ASL-English Interpreting at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). I love the variety of work we get to do. I love that everyone who works here truly supports the mission of wanting quality interpreting services and full access for the Deaf community. The interpreters are all a pleasure to work alongside of, and truly care about the work that we do. Rachel can be reached at the office by phone at 716.371.1390 or via e-mail at rachel@servicebridges.com.
Sarah Bennett
ASL-English Staff Interpreter
I met several Deaf people throughout my life that inspired and helped me to recognize the problematic communication gaps facing their community and want to ensure full access to those who don’t have it. This motivated me to earn my bachelor’s degree in ASL-English Interpreting at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). I’ve always enjoyed working with people and having a variety of job assignments while interacting with people are what I enjoy about being a sign language interpreter. I value the trust that the Deaf community has put in me. I appreciate the opportunities that I have working in service to this community.
Adrienne Howard
ASL-English Staff Interpreter
A great ASL 1 teacher and a love for analyzing language and how people communicate prompted me to begin a career as an ASL-English interpreter. I earned my bachelor’s degree in ASL-English Interpretation from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) with magna cum laude honors. Most importantly, I want the Deaf community to know I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve you and will always be working to improve and elevate my skill set to provide the best service levels and experience.
Clara Rich
ASL-English Staff Interpreter
“Making communication happen” is how I’d describe my job as a staff interpreter at Service Bridges. I love doing something different every day, working with the community, refining my language, and bridging any gaps in communication that I can! I earned my bachelor’s degree in ASL-English Interpreting at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) with summa cum laude distinction and returned home to Buffalo. I love working for Service Bridges because it is important for me to work for a Deaf owned agency. Jason goes above and beyond for all clients and interpreters, and always advocates for the best access in our community. Service Bridges also has a great group of interpreters that are skilled and wonderful to work with!
